Billy Elliot the Musical - Feedback
“I was bursting with so much pride and I felt so overwhelmed by it all. Playing Billy Elliot has made me feel special as it is a role I have always wanted to play. I felt like I was on a West End stage as the quality of the production was of a high standard and everyone was so professional and amazing. After each show I was so full of energy I could barely sleep and I REALLY didn't want it to end!!!!!!!!!!!!!” said Kyle Iles.
“I thought that the kids all performed their roles very well. No panicking if the mics slipped while being energetic. Just calmly replacing them and ignoring that it had happened. The adlibbing in the tutu scene was brilliant. The crowd scenes were choreographed to an inch of the space you have. Some of the smaller roles were just so good. They all contributed and made a difference to the whole performance. "Billy" was amazing. All in all I enjoyed every moment. Thank you,” said parent Suzi TIpper.
“Wow!! That was absolutely amazing a truly professional show with such talented students. Well done to everyone who was part of this show it was phenomenal and exceeded all of our expectations. All your hard work paid off, fantastic!” said parent Rebecca Nolan.
“We have just got home from Billy Elliot and would just like to say how amazing and brilliant your show was. We can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed it and it was like watching a West End performance. Chloe Frost playing Mrs Wilkinson was amazing. Billy, Billy's Dad, brother and Michael were outstanding and Gran what can we say!? The whole production was just brilliant and the Swan Lake older Billy reminded us of watching a family member who has danced for the Royal Ballet in Swan Lake! Thank you, what a great show!” said Nicole Newwell.
“ I was impressed with the stage hands, the scene changes were so smoothly done it was like an art form in itself. How the heck did they shift those chairs so quietly every time!” said parent Jenni Saunders.
“I am totally blown away by Billy Elliott. As a new parent to the school I can't thank you enough. Being part of the cast, and playing Michael, has literally catapulted Kody into the Commonweal life. The commitment of all the staff involved is astounding. Thank you so much,” said parent Janine Bowler.
“OMG....... absolutely speechless!!! Billy Elliot rocks!!! Commonweal School has made everyone proud, it was just like being in the West end!!! I have got to say what amazing ad-lib from Billy & Michael too!” said parent Cheryl Iles.
“What a fantastic show! Praise for all the team both in front and behind the scenes. With such a huge cast it is inevitable that the whole school is effected, and in an already pressurised profession, any small extra difficulty can impact in a big way. Billy Elliot is a complex achievement and I am hoping that the focus and discipline to learning which the show demands, and the joy of being in school where team work and social skills and personal interaction are practiced will reflect in the classrooms through a positive attitude and clarity of thought. The bottom line is Ofsted, without a doubt, Commonweal students and staff are outstanding!” Nick Weaver, support staff governor.
“We too at St Hugh's are lucky enough to enjoy great school productions but this was another level - stunning, absolutely brilliant! You must be so proud of the pupils and drama staff. It was one of the best nights I've had in a long time! I could sit through it again - we loved it,” Joanne Power.
“I just wanted to say that we thought the Show was fantastic last night, so full of energy! There were some very talented kids and each and every one of them put their heart and soul into it. BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!! I'll look forward to seeing the next one,” Colleen Predergast.
